Abstract
초록
The aim of this study is to analyse Wonhyo"s one-mind thought. Wonhyo(617-686) was the greatest Buddhist monk that had lived from the period of three Kingdoms to the period of Unified Silla Dynasty in Korea. In the part of his one-mind theory, Wonhyo divided "one-mind" into two parts ; original pure mind and polluted impure mind in his books, Taeseung - kishin - non-so (大乘起信論疏) and Byelkie (別記). He presented the best theoretical way of purifying the polluted impure mind into the original pure mind by using the conception of Kak(覺). In the part of his view of cultivation, Wonhyo suggested the best practical way of transforming the polluted mind into the original pure mind and take it out and then make full use of it in his everyday life, in his moot famous book named Keumkangsammaekyung-non (金剛三昧經論). His cultivating process is composed of following six stages ; First is "Mu-sang-pup-poom stage"(無相法品) where we train how to get rid of objective false images. Second is "Mu-saeng-haeng-poom stage"(無生行品) where we train how to calm and empty our original mind. Third is "Bon-kak-lee-poom stage"(本覺利品) where we learn how to derive the real true light from our inborn mind. Fourth is "Iep-sil-je-poom stage"(入實際品) where we learn how to break border line between you and me and obtain an original greater-self. Fifth is "Jin-sung-kong-poom stage"(眞性空品) where we learn how to benefit others around us as a greater-self. Sixth is "yeu-lae-jang-poom stage"(如來藏品) where we learn how to change our mind and outer form according to others" need only for the purpose of relieving others and decorating and purifying the whole world with everybody"s awakened original pure mind. Wonhyo"s view of cultivation sheds light on the 21th new society. According to Wonhyo"s thought, the aim of life is to recover one"s original pure light in one"s mind and with this light to help others draw out their original light. In modern society, by realizing Wonhyo"s one-mind thought that the root of all beings is one and same mind, we can overcome today"s social phenomena of dehumanization, immorality, and selfishness. In this point, more profound study of Wonhyo"s thought is required.
